A United Preview

I am looking forward to a well-anticipated weekend in the Premiere League after the quick international break. This weekend’s anticipated match for me is Manchester United vs. Cardiff City. Many players are returning from the international break with quality play and practice time.

After England’s 1-0 defeat to Germany, I expect Wayne Rooney will be hungry to find the back of the net. Unfortunately for Carrick and Jones they will return to Manchester with injuries, and may not see time on the pitch against Cardiff.

Manchester United has been questionable in defense this year, conceding 15 goals in the league this season so far, and is recovering from defensive injuries. It will be interesting to see how Moyes changes the line up and if he gives Robin Van Persie time or rest after he pulled out of Holland’s team due to a weak groin. I will be looking to see if Moyes will see fit to run the legs of players like Kagawa, Hernandez, and Adnan Januzaj who will all be looking to impress the manager to gain more time as we begin moving into the middle of the season.

Here would be my suggested line up against a struggling Cardiff side:

Defenders:  Patrice Evra – Nemanja Vidic – Chris Smalling – Rafael (assuming he’s back from injury)

Midfield:  Adnan Januzaj – Shinji Kagawa – Anderson – Antonio Valencia

Forwards:  Wayne Rooney – Javier Hernandez
