ManUnited sack David Moyes

The Moyes’ Era is officially over before his first season is over.  I, like all ManU fans, have been unhappy with the results, the lack luster play, the ever-changing lineup, constant micro-managing from the touch line, that I’m not unhappy he’ll be going. However, I do feel sorry for the guy. He could never quite get Everton past their ‘middle of the top half of the table’ position, and now he’s managed to put United there.  United won’t be going to Champions League next season, and if the table stays as is, ironically, Everton will.  This is  a very difficult and humiliating ending for David Moyes to get past and move on from, but I do wish him all the best.

In a comment from Gary Neville, former United player, and brother of Phil Neville, a current Moyes’ assistant coach:  “The fans have stuck with Moyes but it won’t take much longer because the performances have been so dull,” said Sky Sports’ own Gary Neville. “You can lose games but never be dull – United have lost games, lost championships in the past but they had fire in their performances and a die trying attitude which isn’t there. The fans can’t stand that it’s boring to watch and it’s happened so many times this season.” (Taken from Sky Sports).

Unhappy David MoyesAs to a replacement…I’d like to see Jurgen Klopp, current manager of Borussia Dortmund.  I love Giggs, but I think it’s not a good time to put a beloved player into this situation. Giggs will do fine to manage the team out the rest of this season and then hopefully stay on in some capacity with the club.  Although if he can motivate the players into looking like the ManU we know, then maybe he’ll move up the list.  But I think someone like Klopp shows fire without micro-managing on game day, has good tactics, knows what it is to manage a top tier team and get results.  Time will tell, but hopefully the powers that be in the United camp will take their time and come out with a winner!
